Feature Friday :: Container architecture
Posted by Anna in Feature Friday, House stuff, Vertical blinds on July 9th, 2010
Who knew a container had so much potential? American architectural practice Maziar Behrooz did. They placed two containers on top of each other; partly cut away the floor for a double height section and voilà – an art studio in the Hamptons, New York.
By the way! Such huge window areas demand a very special window blind. We’d definitely be thinking along the lines of our rigid vertical blinds, they would definitely be an equal match for such a modern and streamlined look.

Posted by Anna in House stuff, Vertical blinds, bathroom on April 16th, 2010
Windows in bathrooms beg for blinds and ideally the blind needs to be waterproof and also offer privacy through blackout. Let me introduce you to the Girona Dapple White Rigid PVC Vertical Blind which ticks all the boxes.
The Girona blind also benefits from innovative styling, the vertical vanes hang perfectly straight without the need for weights or chains at the bottom. This streamlined design makes cleaning and dusting so easy.
What’s more this blind is white with a light dimpled texture giving a clean and fresh look. Bathrooms and the colour white are a natural partnership, take a look at some of the lovely items below and for further inspiration check out these companies that specialise in white, The White Company, The White Cottage Company or New England Lifestyle.

Blinds 2go top picks :: Tariffa Chocolate vertical blind
Posted by Anna in Blinds, Blinds 2go, Vertical blinds on March 16th, 2010
Our top pick for today is from our resident photographer who gets fairly up close and personal with all of the Blinds 2go blinds. Unsurprisingly she’s chosen a blind that not only looks great visually but also feels good too! Here we have the Tariffa Chocolate vertical blind.
I love this fabric, it’s soft to the touch and has a lovely texture and drape. Can’t help but give it a feel when it’s hanging up.
We have a huge range of vertical blinds in many colours and textures, we’ve blogged about them too.
New blinds :: Rigid vertical blinds
Posted by Anna in Blinds, Vertical blinds on March 11th, 2010
Sometimes a vertical blind is the only solution, think large patio windows and verts are the natural answer. Let us introduce rigid vertical blinds which are a modern take on a traditional favourite.
These blinds give a very modern streamlined look at the window, this is partly down to the rigidity of the vanes but also because there are no weights and chains at the bottom of the slats. If you like the minimalist look then this really is the blind for you. Of course the lack of chain is a great safety benefit for children and pets as there’s no risk of entanglement.
The rigid slats are as durable and robust as they come, this is particularly important if they are to be used next to a walk way where there’s a risk of them getting knocked. (It’s unlikely, but if a slat is damaged then the slat can be replaced quickly and easily.)
Finally the vanes are blackout and also 100% waterproof so great for bathrooms or kitchens or for giving a quick wipe down.
We have a large range of natural and neutral colours in both matt and also textured variations. These blinds may just be thing that you were looking for!

New vertical blind :: Leon Mineral Blue Vertical Blind
Posted by Anna in House stuff, Vertical blinds, bathroom on March 4th, 2010
A favourite blind of ours here at Blinds 2go is the Leon Mineral Blue vertical blind. This pale blue blind has a natural looking slubby texture with interwoven yarns of cream and soft buff. The fabric gives the blind a fresh look and the texture adds character and style.
We think that this blind will work so well in a bathroom. Blue is always a popular accent colour in a bathroom echoing the blue of the ocean and conjuring up a feeling of freshness, and the pastel chalkiness of Leon Mineral Blue will look gorgeous. The blind isn’t a strong blue so it will harmonise in with white pottery and allow stronger blue accessories to stand out. A vertical blind is also very practical in a bathroom allowing the perfect compromise between light and privacy.
Here we have the Leon Mineral Blue in all its glory as well as accessories and bathrooms to inspire. If this blind isn’t quite the right blue then take a quick look at our other blue vertical blinds; Lorca Pale Blue, Navy Blue PVC Blackout, Malaga Light Blue, Valencia Light Blue and not forgetting Valencia Navy Vertical Blind.
New blinds :: Luxury textured vertical blinds
Posted by Anna in Blinds, Vertical blinds on February 25th, 2010
Vertical blinds are the most popular choice of window blind in the UK thanks to their excellent value and versatility. We have expanded our range of vertical blinds with over 15 new textured fabrics. The textures all add a touch of subtle interest at the window, including slubby textures giving an organic and natural look, delicate patterns inspired by nature and structured modern designs.
The textured fabrics are available in a range of colours from neutral to pastel as well as more earthy tones. Click here to see the full range in all its glory.
Vertical blinds can be hung anywhere in the home and the louvre slats can be adjusted to offer just the right amount of shading or privacy. These blinds particularly suit large glazed areas such as patio doors where the slats can be completely drawn back giving free access through the doors and into the garden.
Don’t forget our other vertical ranges too, there’s lots of colours as well as PVC which works so well in wet and steamy rooms.

Perfect fit blinds, just perfect for your conservatory
Posted by Mark in Blinds, Conservatory Blinds, Perfect Fit Blinds, Pleated Blinds, Thermal Blinds, Vertical blinds on October 5th, 2009
Conservatory blinds present some very real challenges to our customers. There are usually more blinds in the average conservatory than in the average house so cost becomes very important. Also it is difficult to fix in a conservatory and drilling into the frame can be messy. Finally as there are no window “recesses” to fit the blinds into they can look a little messy.
As I’m sure you were expecting we have solved these three issues with not one but two ranges of conservatory blinds. So different are conservatories that we even have a specialist web site dedicated to them, visit www.conservatoryblinds2go.co.uk.
On the site we offer two main styles of blind:
Perfect Fit Blinds
A fantastic venetian blind which we have designed to utilise the perfect fit frame. The perfect fit frame allows us to offer a blind that sits snugly against the windows with any potential gaps at the sides expertly covered by the frame. Of course we wouldn’t dream of asking you to drill or screw into your conservatory, these perfect fit blinds simply slot on to special brackets that slide in between the glass and beading of your window.
Not forgetting the third aspect, cost, these blinds start at just £40.44 each. Perfect! We also have a comprehensive perfect fit measuring and installation guide including videos.
EZ Fit Blinds
Our original thermal pleated blinds. These pleated conservatory blinds offer unrivaled thermal properties, not only do they keep your conservatory cool in the summer but they also insulate in the colder months, saving money on your bills! Once again we wouldn’t dream of asking you to drill into your conservatory, these blinds simply slot into your windows or doors with the special EZ fit tabs. These blinds are frame-less but have a very slim profile and fit neatly into the window.
Available in three different fabric types, each one with varying thermal properties these EZ fit pleated blinds start at just £34.95 and we even have a special lower price for the small top opening windows.
