Spring has officially begun! Today (20th March) marks the Spring Equinox – also known as the first day of Spring.
The Earth has started it’s cycle of new beginnings with daffodils and tulips springing up from the ground; little innocent ducklings hatching; and newborn lambs skipping along fields of green. So what better time than now to revitalise your life and give it the new beginning it deserves.
We’ve all watched the home-improvement, home-makeover type of shows before. You’ve seen how much of an impact a new lick of paint, a few furniture moves and a couple of upcycling projects can make. And what an impact they have on the recipient’s face. But now it’s your turn to take centre stage and start afresh.
We’re not going to bang on about this one too much, but we all know how good we can feel after a thorough Spring Clean (even if we’re rather tired by the end of it). We’ve done a whole range of posts on how to clean your Roman, Roller, Vertical, Venetian, Wooden and Pleated Blinds, so you can revitalise your home this Spring.
Size the clean into do-able chunks. This will help you keep motivated. Try printing a checklist too, so you can see exactly how much progress you’ve made.
Give your home the feel of a new lease of life with a lovely bunch of Springtime flowers. We all associate Daffodils with the Spring bloom, but Tulips, Hyacinth, Peonies and Narcissus’ are also beautiful alternatives. The arrangement ideas from Country Living offer some beautiful ideas on how to display them around your home, but you can find plenty more all over the internet, especially on Pinterest. We particularly like this board…
We all know the power that colour has over our subconscious and our mood, and Spring is a great time to get your interior design scheme just right. The last thing you want to do is start off your new beginning on the wrong foot. We have an entire board on Pinterest dedicated to colour palettes, but with these three you can’t go wrong! Choose one or two of the shades as your base and work the others in accents with furnishings and accessories for an elegant and fresh look.
