I love candles, who doesn’t? I have a problem though, these lighter nights mean I just don’t get to light them. There is a solution though. Sit outside and enjoy these summer evenings. Surround yourself with romantic, flattering, flickering candlelight.
I have scoured the web and found some beautiful candles to light up the lovely summer evenings. Some of them will hang delightfully off trees or a handy hook, while others will sit proudly on your table. Can you spot the homemade candle holder? Looks so easy to make and fun too. Maybe save yourself a trip to the tip and recycle those old metal paint tins.
As equally beautiful and enchanting as candles are fairy lights. And these fairy lights are particularly fantastic because they’re solar. One hour of direct sunlight gives two hours of magical twinkly light. It really is a no brainer, no outside power needed, completely weather proof, once they’re up just leave them and enjoy. My garden certainly deserves some magic. The Sunday Mirror gave these 9/10 in their gadget review and the Independent featured them as one 0f their top 10 garden lamps.
If you do need a bit more light than the gentle cast of a candle or fairy light then why not try a parasol light? Here is a great idea, really simple, charge the light up inside then attach it to your parasol for 6 hours of bright light.
Now there really is no excuse not to sit outdoors, you can sit in front of the TV in winter! And as my mum always says, ” If you’re cold then put a jumper on.”. Make the most of summer 2009.
