When it comes to making a beautiful home, you always have to find a balance between practicality and making it look beautiful. When it comes to storage, such a balance can be pretty tricky to strike.
This neat little trick that we’ve found fits the bill perfectly, allowing to store away unsightly gizmos and gadgets without your shelves looking like a second hand electronics store.
It’s also a great way to upcycle some old books you’ve got lying around. You know, the ones with missing pages you bought from the local car boot and never got round to reading. Or perhaps a few childhood classics that you just can’t bear to throw away.
All you have to do is cut away the spines of a few old books, leaving one with a front cover attached and one with a back cover attached. Then stick them onto the edge of a box that can be used for storage.
Pop the box on the shelf, fill it with remotes, wires or whatever it is you need to hide away and voila – a beautiful library to cover up your ugly looking electronics.
