Get Organised- Cable Clutter

June 24th, 2014 in Home Improvement

This weekend, I discovered that my filing system needed a little work. I’ve always thought I was quite an organised individual… Then I realised that I lived in organised chaos- I knew exacly where everything was… But nobody else did!

This led to me perusing the internet to find some helpful hints and I’ve discovered so many great ways to keep organised, that I just had to share some with you! After putting out heads together, we’ve come up with five of the best, most useful ways to keep organised and we’ll publish them in a series of posts over the next few weeks.

So, without further ado, here’s our first entry…

I have a drawer in my bedroom that’s full of all my cables and chargers- my phone charger, my spare phone charger and my emergency spare phone charger are just a few of the offending items- and they are forever becoming tangled together. As if finding the right cable isn’t hard enough, you then have to spend ten minutes trying to figure out what’s tangled with what and how to get them apart! What can be done to avoid this?

Using empty loo rolls is a great way to keep everything organised inside the drawer- you can even cut them open and tape them together to hold the larger cables, ensuring that everything it kept separate and, most importantly, stays nice and tangle free!

This isn’t the only way you can get organised though, if you have a little more room available then we have another suggestion for you.

These plastic shoe organisers are perfect for hanging over your door and have enough pockets to store almost everything separately. Seeing as they’re a little bigger too, you can use them to store larger items as well.

So there we have it, two tips for the price of one when it comes to de-cluttering your cables! We’ll be publishing our next tip over the weekend so keep your eyes peeled!
