Feature Friday :: Ligne Roset pumpkin chair

October 23rd, 2009 in Home Improvement

By golly, it’s a double whammy. Our favourite colour, in a wicked looking chair plus we’ve found it in time for Halloween! Actually that may be a triple whammy. The pumpkin chair is part of Ligne Rosset’s 2010 collection. This chair is possibly rivalling the infamous Lemsip chair for outright comfy snuggliness.

For the very first time, Pierre Paulin’s 1971 design for seating for the private apartments of Claude & GeorgesPompidou at the Elysée Palace is being put into large-scale production. Pumpkin is characteristic of Paulin’s revolutionary style, as initiated at the end of the 1950’s, and as its name suggests is evocative of a giant pumpkin, welcoming the user with its protectively voluptuous – andvoluptuously protective – shell. Resisting its appeal is an impossibility!
