Take one blind :: Arnhem Linen Beige Roller Blind
Posted by Anna in Blinds, Roller blinds on February 2nd, 2010
Can you see the Arnhem Linen Beige roller blind in your home? This blind is gorgeous and will look superb in so many rooms with its classic looks.
The background colour of the blind is a wonderful natural linen colour, think of a pair of rather nice beige linen trousers! The raised black velvet renaissance florals add a sophisticated touch that makes this blind simply show stopping.
There are many ways to pull together an interior design scheme and this blind has a number of elements to play with.
- Colour :: colour is one of the easiest ways to make a scheme cohesive, add black and beige furniture for a co-ordinated look. Why not be brave and add a pop of colour too to keep it lively?
- Fabric :: the colour and texture of the fabric brings to mind linen, introduce other linen accessories into the room too.
- Pattern :: the lines of the pattern flow and trail so naturally, echo these curving lines in wall art, take a look at the beautiful picture we found.
- Texture :: the raised soft flock pattern brings to mind soft and sumptuous fabric such as velvets, just take a look at the green crushed velvet chair.
Take one blind :: Midnight black wooden blind

Take one blind …
A wooden blind is guaranteed to add style, and in black it’s contemporary style all the way. The Midnight Black wooden blind from the Soho range is very desirable, particularly in the 50mm slat size. The bonus of 50mm is the extra light that’s allowed in and also the less restricted view to the outside.
We’ve imagined this blind in three different settings but the options are endless. Black is a particularly useful colour when designing an interior, it will add balance and strength to any colour scheme whether it be pastels, brights or neutrals. Cutting to the chase, we love this blind and we think there’s a place for it in most homes.
… Three different looks
Glamorous dining
Opt for quality tableware including crystal glasses, beautiful candles and linen napkins. Introduce a statement colour to keep it the right side of dramatic.
Sophisticated sleeping
Black wooden blinds needn’t be masculine, not when teamed with soft textures and luxurious fabrics. The softness of the wood at the windows echoes boutique hotels and hideaways.
Uber cool kitchen
It can be drama all the way by mixing black in with red. A metal blind is the obvious choice in a kitchen but wood will give an added touch of natural styling.

Trick or Treat :: Halloween heaven
Posted by Anna in House stuff on October 22nd, 2009
The kids are bemoaning the dark cold mornings and I find myself giving a big sell for this chilly season. “Why, it’s Halloween soon, oh then bonfire night, and let’s not forget Christmas!”.
I feel effort is required this Halloween, maybe a bit of decoration and a spooky party. Simply go out and buy loads of stuff or check out ‘50 Spooky things to make and do’, simple projects for even the most craftily challenged parent. Now where is that food colouring?
