Spring Cleaning 101: How to Organise your Jewellery

April 6th, 2014 in Home Improvement

You know the story. You’re getting ready to go out and, having found the perfect outfit to go with the perfect pair of shoes, you remember that Aunt Sally gave you a pair of earrings that will finish off the look perfectly.

You rummage through the box of tangled necklaces and intertwining bracelets and come up with a single earring. No more no less. You briefly consider rocking the Michael Jackson look before deciding that if the king of pop can’t get away with it, neither can you. Outfit ruined, start the whole painful process all over again.

Sound familiar?

Well, if you follow the next in our series of spring cleaning tips you may never have to go through this again.

The concept is simple, just take a regular cork notice board, insert pins and hang all of your jewellery from it. It’s easy, orderly and ensures you never have to untangle another necklace with the taxi driver beeping his horn outside.

If you’re really on top of the job, you can even arrange your items into type, colour or concept.

A trip to the local stationary store may be in order.

  1. I have such a board at home but I don’t use it any more so I have stored it in the garage. Now I know what to do with it. I hate when I can’t find my favorite earrings because, believe me, my jewellery are a pile of a big mess. Thank you for the magnificent idea!
