Now, we have to admit, The Glass House isn’t exactly the same as our usual Hot Off The Press posts. Rather than a magazine or newspaper, The Glass House is an interiors blog, set up by Mr & Mrs Glass (no really, that’s their real name), as a way to document the renovation of their newly acquired home in London.
They both have pasts in journalism, with a vested interest in interiors and decided to set up The Glass House Project website to document their journey of planning, installation and design.
We were quite impressed to see that we were featured in 3 of their moodboards, and you can create the looks too!
The living room is one of the most important places in a home, as it’s where we all come together. So if it’s not comfortable, who’s going to come there?
The Glass House wanted an industrial look that was eclectic but warm. They’ve sourced an exposed brickwork feature, a fun bear side table and planned to upholster a vintage chair with a patriotic print, as well as industrial style lighting.
To top the theme off, they wanted to paint the rest of the walls grey and finish off the look with a Thermal Luxe roller blind in the bay windows.
The master bedroom is a bit of a bright one, drawing inspiration from Japanese styles. They’ve gone for a yellow tone as the base (a bit brave if you ask me) with elements of grey and white to break down the colour.
As well as four of our Valencia Neon Yellow roller blinds (how many windows can one room have!?), they’ve gone for a eye-popping wallpaper, an incredible bed and even a fun little elephant. To finish it off, they’re using complementary grey, yellow and black cushions. (Did you know we sell matching cushions to most of our curtains over at Curtains 2go ? Just head to the curtain product page, and scroll a little further down.)
It looks like the second bedroom is headed for a crazy ride too. But if there’s one thing that we’ve learnt about the Glass House Project so far, it’s that they’re not afraid of a little pattern, no matter how quirky.
With this space though, they’ve chosen a cooler palette instead, with teal and charcoal grey leading the way. Making a fun statement, they’ve chosen the Flamingo wallpaper from Cole & Son, with another fab bed from made.com almost stealing the show.
They’re sticking with the teal for the finishing touches, with our Valencia Simplicity Teal roller blind in the windows, and a fun lamp.
We’ve absolutely loved looking into The Glass House’s moodboards and wish them the very best of luck with their project. If you’ve been tempted to add a bit more colour to your home too, head on over to Blinds 2go, where we have hundreds of colours and hundreds of patterns, all ready and waiting for your choosing.
