Last week we explored the coastal chic look from the July issue of Your Home magazine and if you have a copy, on the double spread before you’ll know there’s a lovely kitchen makeover from Jo MacFarlane.
We love seeing makeovers like Jo’s because it makes us remember that sometimes less is more and sometimes all we need is a plain neutral roller blind to get the setting right. And that’s exactly what Jo did. She’s layered neutral tones the whole way around her kitchen.
Her walls are Ammonite from Farrow & Ball, which looks pretty beige on the computer but they say it has subtle grey undertones.
The cabinets are in a lovely stone colourway too (from Homebase), and together the neutral tones work in harmony.
Jo’s not shy to a little upcycling project either. She loves to repaint furniture in Annie Sloan paints, including the kitchen stools.
The big ask of the project though was to build a space that was fit for the whole family. When they moved in 4 years ago, Jo & her husband couldn’t cope with the existing tiny kitchen so they turned the back bedroom into a kitchen that was big enough for the whole family.
