Home Envy from French For Pineapple

August 16th, 2016 in All About Blinds

Earlier this month, an email popped into our inbox, letting us know that the Amara Interior Blog Awards were open for voting. We love working with bloggers, reading interior blogs and discovering brand new ones so we had a nosey at the nominees.
And over on the Best Design Inspiration category was one of the lovely bloggers we had the pleasure of working with in the past. The blog? French For Pineapple.

If you follow our social media channels (if not, then why not?), you would have seen that we collaborated with the lovely Bianca from FFP earlier this year as she gave her (already gorgeous) living room a makeover.

But then we realised, we never shared it with you here on the blog. How foolish of us! But fear not, today is the day we share it with you.

The feature wall now…

… and how it looked before. It has totally different vibe, doesn’t it?

We must admit, we actually love how the shape of the venetian blind used to shine across the wall. It’s very moody.

Bianca’s actually kept much of the furniture the same in the room and it’s quite refreshing to see how it still looks amazing without the need for reupholstering or upcycling. At the same time, none of the furniture is plain or boring. There’s not a plain cream sofa in sight, this room’s got patterns and textures all over the place. Dreamy!

And you see those beautiful big windows? Well obviously that’s where we came in. It turns out the old venetian blinds were in fact incredibly old! Bianca hadn’t swapped them out in the whole time of owning the house, meaning they were from the previous owners, who moved out an incredible 8 years ago!
And boy had they seen better days…

The brand new Vista Black Magic Screen adds a touch of drama to the space

It’s all the finishing touches that makes this room so easy to swoon over. The black and white portrait on the wall? That’s of her own mother back in her youth.Pretty cool, eh? She can take an incredible shelfie too.
