Web wonder :: Mimou

I have just happened across Mimou, a home interiors retailer that has the most amazing and gorgeous catalogue. Some of the photographic shots really will take your breath away, as well as giving you the most fabulous ideas for your own home.

The Mimou catalogue is a fantastic resource book, particularly if you like your interiors a little different, there’s retro and eclectic aplenty.

Remember, that decorating is not nuclear science, it’s all about bringing items together with love.

Web wonder :: L’Affiche Moderne

Check out L’Affiche Moderne for modern limited edition prints. If you want to stand out from the crowd with high quality affordable art then L’Affiche Moderne is for you. (Unless of course you pride yourself on having the same IKEA print as everyone else!)

Available as small prints, big prints, mounted or as canvases. Git vouchers are available too for those difficult to buy for friends.

Web wonder :: Style your door with stickers

Not for everyone but definitely a whole lot of fun. These posh stickers instantly take a simple door into a room with a view, check out Style Your Door for the massive range of stickers.

Interior doors are mostly dull and often unimaginative. But that’s all changed now! With full-surface, high-quality photo films, style-your-door.com can give boring interior doors a whole new look. And suddenly there’s something “behind a door” that you normally wouldn’t find or expect.
The 3D motifs are deceptively realistic and will cause family, neighbours and friends to stop and stare!

Web wonder :: Handpicked Collection

Handpicked Collection is a really great find. Yes, it’s another gift website but this one stands shoulders above the rest. All the lovely things are handpicked by a bunch of people who know what they’re talking about. There’s a superb gift finder too, one of the best I’ve seen.

20 influential trendsetters make up our expert panel. They include journalists from publications like Harpers, In Style, Red and Company, and trendsetters who are blazing a trail with some of the UK’s most innovative companies, including the cult Mr & Mrs Smith hotel guides and the online market place Nappy Valley. They write about and spot the trends, so choosing innovative presents is second nature.

Web wonder :: Tszuji – shoe storage solutions

I think most homes have this problem, too many shoes and not enough space. You’re in luck though, Tszuji is a website dedicated to overcoming this niggling problem. Many of the products offer an innovative storage solution, none more so than the shoe wheel.

This wheel looks almost too good to be true, storing  up to 30 pairs of shoes is simply awesome! Have a read on About Ergonomics for an in depth review.

Web wonder :: Twentytwentyone

20/21 is a brand new find of mine. It’s not the biggest website but the items it does has, are beautiful, functional or just very unusual. A little different from the norm there’s also a vintage section selling original bits and pieces.

The twentytwentyone website has been designed to aid the process of sourcing good design for professional designers specifying for creative commercial interiors, individuals furnishing the home or collectors looking for fine period examples of vintage 20th century furniture. We are known for our extensive knowledge of 20th century design but are also passionate about contemporary pieces from companies such as Arper, Artemide, Cappellini, DePadova, Flos, Moooi, Santa & Cole and Vitra.

Web wonder :: Ferm LIVING

ferm LIVING is a lovely website full of Scandinavian influence, the whole site leaves you with a warm snug feel and that’s before you check out the story of how ferm came to life.

ferm LIVING originates from a graphic design agency in Aarhus, Denmark, founded by Trine Andersen in 2005. The company came to life after Trine, mostly for fun, decided to visit a clairvoyant. Trine was quite astonished when the clairvoyant saw a little bird sitting confused on a branch, not knowing which way to fly. This sight was essential for Trine’s decision to follow her dream of starting her own business. When she then founded ferm, the little bird found knew exactly where to go and now sits on top of the company logo.

I found some great knitted items that are bang on trend for this year, also check out the wall stickers. The section for children is great, nice graphic prints and cute folksy images.

Visit the Ferm LIVING blog too.

Web wonder :: To dry for

How can you not love a website with a name like to ‘To dry for’? ‘To dry for’ keep it deadly simple and just sell amazing tea towels. Funky, retro, vintage, pastel or bright there’s a tea towel for every kitchen and everyone.  Great descriptions of their towels too, you can’t go wrong.

Beetroot is a truly wonderful British vegetable; gnarly on the outside and incredibly beautiful on the inside. Apparently, Romans believed it to be an aphrodisiac, and sometimes (if you eat a lot of it) you may have pink side effects as it passes harmlessly through your digestive system! Hoorah for this beetroot tea towel.

Hey Suckas! Get your bad selves this Mr Tea Towel (also available in pink) and you’ll be welding together a speedboat in your kitchen from tin foil and tea spoons before you know it! I ain’t doin’ no dishes fool!

Web wonder :: Objects of design

Wow, I’ve found a website that sells different things to everyone else! Yipee!

I visit a lot of websites and it’s so refreshing to see that Objects of design is an online retailer that stocks things that are a little different.  With a wish list and gift wrap service I think they may have your birthday plus everyone else’s sewn up.
