I’m not sure whether this should be a Friday Feeling post as opposed to a Feature Friday post? Here goes though. It’s that time of year, it’s now officially cold, wet and dark and Christmas is looming ominously (the presents haven’t even been thought about, the debate over Christmas dinner and its location is simmering).
Where does love go at this time of year? I would say it either goes out the window or sits on life’s back burner.

Mark the date, October 22nd 2009 is when you get to unleash your inner geek and throw a Windows 7 party. That’s right I said a Windows 7 party!
Now I’m as geeky as the next guy, started with Windows 3.0 and can still remember the intense excitement I felt when Windows 3.11 for workgroups came out, but this is going a bit far. Opinion seems to be that the mere idea of throwing a party to “celebrate” the release of a new operating system is simply sad. I have to agree but maybe it is a sign of old age and needing to get out more but the idea sort of appeals to me. Of course I mean in an ironic, post-modern way 
So in for a penny in for a pound…we will be throwing our own Blinds 2go Windows 7 party on October 22nd because after all we are in the Windows game too. Us elderly folk can enchant the youngsters with tales of the olden days when all we had was an abacus and a pencil…..if you were lucky.

]]>Each season brings its own magic and for Autumn it has to be the ever changing colours around us. Woods and forests lose their green and become an ever changing rainbow of colours from green through to yellows, reds, bronzes and browns. The Forestry Commission has an online interactive map showing which woodland areas are which colour so that you can time your visit perfectly.
The commission has also found the best places to view the autumn colours.

As you all know, staying in the UK is the new thing for so many reasons. Forget Butlins though, or some tired hotel and and just look at these beauties. Glamping is the next big thing! How could you not be tempted?

The King’s Head at Wadonhoe in Northamptonshire
Not to be missed this summer, this cheery stone-built 16th-century inn is in a wonderful spot with seating in a grassy paddock sloping gently towards the River Nene. Serious ale fans won’t be disappointed and fine cask-conditioned beers include their own King’s Head Bitter. Grab a seat under the shade of a willow and watch the Nene slide lazily by. If you arrive by boat you can moor up for free.
The Inn at Whitewell in Lancashire
This former Victorian deer-keeper’s lodge has to have one of the most perfect settings in Britain. From the terrace the graceful fells of the Forest of Bowland sweep into the distance with the River Hodder streaking silver on the valley floor below. If you can tear yourself from this veritable postcard, you can fish the river or walk.
The Ship at Noss Mayo in Devon
Scrumptiously set in one of the prettiest villages in Devon, The Ship’s garden sits surveying the town quay. The view takes in bobbing boats, hungrily circling seagulls and a gentle estuary bordered by forested hilltops. If you arrive by boat you can tie up outside. The food is excellent and the beers are well kept.

Some of the folk here at Blinds 2go seem to think that their Friday boxing session is a ‘Friday feeling’ type thing. So here you go….. and I welcome your captions!
All of the action takes place in our office gym, one of the (many) perks of working at Blinds 2go. With [almost] everything at Blinds 2go there is always a serious side to our fun, in this case we find that the boxing is a very effective team building tool. It’s really quite remarkable how people learn to get along when they are trying to beat the stuffing out of each other, and if truth be told a few little office “disputes” tend to get settled on a Friday rather than linger on. Don’t get the wrong idea though, nobody gets hurt and if anybody goes a little too far then John (our boxing trainer) tends to have a “quiet” word. All in all great fun and highly recommended.
