White and light roman blinds
Posted by Anna in Blinds, Roman blinds on August 23rd, 2010
Hanging a white blind at the window keeps not only the window area light and bright but also helps the room itself to feel bigger and brighter. We have various white roman blinds and each offers something a little different, e.g. texture with the Breton, shimmer with the Frost or a luxurious touch with Faux Silk.
Suitable for so many areas of the home including the bedroom thanks to the blackout lining option.
Here’s a quick guide to our white and light roman blinds….
Breton White :: Bright white and gently corded adding texture and a luxurious touch.
Panama White :: Pure white, fresh, simple and clean with a subtle linear weave.
Shimmer Frost :: Ivory in colour with a special and luxurious look, the fabric has a subtle shimmer that catches the light beautifully.
Chenille Winter Frost :: Ivory in colour or very light cream if you prefer, light chenille so there’s plenty of texture and interest, when the light catches the blind it really does look like a winter frost!
Faux Silk Soft White :: A stunning addition to any room and soft white in colour, the slubs in the fabric add to the natural look of the fabric.
All that glitters :: Mineral Gold roller blind
Posted by Anna in Blinds, House stuff, Roller blinds on August 19th, 2010
Have you thought about adding some glamour into your life recently? Well our Mineral Gold roller blind will do just that without breaking the bank, and you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home.
The Mineral Gold roller blind is burnished gold, think antique gold rather than the brighter 9ct. There are more uses for a gold roller blind than you would imagine! If you’re feeling brave mix in other metals like copper, bronze and silver for a high-lustre look, alternatively a room with soft yellows and browns will create a beautifully warm theme.
Take a look not only at our blind but these fab shots of dining, living and bedroom areas that would all look sensational with the addition of a gold roller blind.

You say fuchsia, we say fuschia (roller blind)
Posted by Anna in Blinds, Roller blinds on August 11th, 2010
We do like our ‘discussions’ in the Blinds 2go office and this one went on and on and on! And what’s more I lost! (But did win the right to air my grievance on the blog!)
We have a lovely new stripey blind called Henley Fuschia, for the horticultural among you may notice the mistake, we’ve spelt fuchsia wrong. The debate centred around whether we should spell it correctly (me) or ‘differently’ (i.e. wrong). Well as you can see we’ve spelt it wrong, despite there being 9.2 million google hits for fuchsia and a paltry 2 million for fuschia. And you’d think that the The British Fuchsia Society would know how to spell fuchsia wouldn’t you?
For those of you who do care about the English language here’s a couple of spelling tips from the Oxford Dictionary (always my first port of call when we’re having a ‘discussion’).
fu chs ia is a c olourful h orticultural s hrub.
Remember that fuchsia has -chs- in the middle, the flower is named after the German botanist Leonhard Fuchs.
Here’s the lovely, if controversial blind with some lovely fuchsias too.
Ercol’s 90th birthday
Posted by Anna in Blinds, House stuff, Roller blinds on August 9th, 2010
Founded in 1920 by Lucian Ercolani, Ercol is celebrating its 90th birthday. Ercol is synonymous with beautiful wooden furniture and iconic items such as the nest of tables and butterfly chair.
Here at Blinds 2go we’ve been on a bit of a shopping trip and bought some Ercol pieces all of our own, take a look below and spot a nest of tables cropping up in various places as well as chairs and the odd side board ……. It just goes to show how easy it is to mix up classic pieces with the most modern or traditional blinds for an eclectic look that really works.

We’ve been busy here at Blinds 2go, our range of blinds is ever-expanding and “its all in the best possible taste”!
Our new collection of blackout patterned roller blinds are the perfect solution for a sunny bedroom, these blinds will keep that sun out and give you that well earned lie in.
These blinds aren’t restricted to bedrooms though, they will look lovely anywhere in the home. For example, because they are 100% polyester they are very robust so are an excellent choice for a bathroom or kitchen. Take at a look at our new blinds just here or just click the images below.
We’ve also just expanded out collection of non-blackout rollers with pattern, so why not check those out too.

Just look what we have here? A brand new collection of patterned roller blinds, and there are patterns and colours for all tastes and styles.
If you fancy something traditional, take a look at the Bohemia Black or Acanthus Frosted Truffle. Need to keep it light and breezy? You really must sneak a peek at Summer Garden Bourton or maybe Ribbons Honeydew. As for making a statement, Mischa Platinum and Summer Garden Abbotsbury have plenty of character. Of course you may be in need of just a subtle touch, in that case Aurora Ice White or Clarion Agate White are just the ticket.
I’m looking forward to introducing you in detail to some of our new blinds over the coming weeks, in the meantime just click here to take a look…
